Poultry not lone source of H7N9 virus, threat from other animals also likely

As the fear of another pandemic looms ahead in Asia, researchers are yet to find any clues on the origin of the latest bird flu infection caused by the H7N9 virus that has already claimed around 20 lives in China and has infected over 91 people.

The latest doubt has researchers digging hard to find whether poultry birds were the only source of the virus or other agents are also responsible for the H7N9 infection.

As of now, human to human transmission has been nil in the case and no proof has been found on the virus passing from humans to other humans.
